Behind The Lens
I'm a Canadian who grew up near the Rockies. I love hiking, camping and being out in nature. When Kate, my bride, discovered this side of me she nicknamed me Sasquatch and ever since then it stuck.
My Nickname is Sasquatch
It's not hard to fall in love with Hawaii, but I fell in love in Hawaii. I met Kate on the Big Island during photography school. Our first dates included chocolate fondue on the beach, watching lava pour into the ocean and seeing manta rays at night. This woman and place have stolen my heart.

Three Facts About me
My kids and I will listen to Christmas music throughout the year and usually start watching the Christmas movies in August. Kate graciously puts up with us. I'm huge fan of the lights, spirit of generosity, focus on family and celebrating Jesus' birthday! What's not to love?

I believe that God gave us a the sunrise and sunset so that we would be tucked in by beautiful reminders that we are loved at the beginning and ending of everyday.
In a much smaller degree this is the mission of my photography. That you would remember how much your spouse loves you, and how much you love them.
My heart fills with joy when I see couples displaying their wedding photos on their walls, as their wall paper, all over their social media and tucked into frames throughout their house.
Our hearts need to be reminded everyday.
Every morning you should wake up surrounded by beauty, knowing that you are loved.
but I used to desperately long to be a landscape photographer. At one point I was tearing up telling someone how much I wanted to capture God's beauty in nature. I know, it's a weird way to start a conversation about wedding photography, but that was before I fell head-over-heels. I met Kate, the love of my life, in Hawaii while attending photo school. We were crushing on each other hard while snorkeling with sea turtles. I put my arm around her for the first time while watching lava pour into the ocean. On Valentine's Day we ate chocolate fondue under the stars while watching waves roll in on the beach. As our relationship grew I started to take more photos of other couples in love, and got addicted to capturing their tender moments of authentic love.

Kate and I have now been married for 15 years. I wanted to get married and have a family for as long as I can remember but never imagined deep and rich this gift from God could be. Kate and I have purposed in our hearts to protect, treasure and strengthen our marriage. We will fight for it, no matter what it takes! One way that we do this is by surrounding ourselves with reminders of our love. This is why I do what I do. I want your marriage to last a lifetime, growing deeper and stronger every year.
